...since I've done anything, really. Last year and the year before I added a few "in progress" pics of stuff that never got finished, because I simply got discouraged or lost motivation, and my life has gotten waaay too busy for me to be able to take care of all the things I have to and focus on doll stuff too without tight time management.

However, in the past few months I've discovered my old drive to create art, to draw, paint, sculpt, submit my work, and look at my mistakes and fix them, working ever harder towards new goals. Last year I created a shop on Etsy to sell doll-related stuff and I want to continue to make doll clothes to drop in it, mainly Obitsu 27/Obitsu 25 sized things and stuff for odd sized ball-joint dolls, such as the Souldoll Vito boy I got in recently.

Here's to a year of success.

My Etsy shop is called ArgentSea, which is what I will be renaming my current Deviantart ID. Here's the link to my shop: www.etsy.com/ca/shop/ArgentSea .

Hope everyone is having a great year so far, in the doll hobby and everywhere. <3

....As some of my customized vinyl dolls near completion, I have other projects on the go--namely, Obitsus/Azones that I am customizing to make clothing for, SD Bobobie sized clothing I am currently in the process of making, fullsets I have to complete...the list is rather long. At any rate, I have a couple of process photos to share before I plunge back into my work. Nothing much to see at the moment, which is kinda frustrating, but....lots of updates coming in the next two weeks.

In case anyone wants to see my other drawing based site it's here: daughter-of-sargeras.deviantar… though it's pretty bare at the moment, as I scrapbooked all the unworthy pieces and am working on scanning in new ones.

Hello and welcome to my doll page! I am also on DeviantArt as "Daughter of Sargeras", posting fanart and concepts, developing my skills and hopefully soon, posting fancomics (though I haven't put anything up yet). I will be posting all my doll stuff, customized fashion dolls such as Barbie, Ken, Kitty and Gene (and hopefully one day my own bjds) up for sale on this site as I complete them--I'm hoping to have my first dolls completed by the end of February.

As a little girl I had an active imagination and was given these beautiful italian dolls to play with (though part of me loved transformers and I had quite the My Little Pony collection!) and I used to make up, and act out, all these crazy scenarios while playing with my toys. I suppose that's what led to my love of acting, though i've never really outgrown this overblown imagination of mine, lol. Half the time I'm still in lalaland thinking of new stories to write and illustrate, and have a hard time reining myself in to focus on actual day to day stuff, but it's certainly made my life more interesting :p

About fourteen years ago, after my first child was born, I started getting interested in customized Barbies and was really drawn to Renee Coughlan's fantasy centaurs and fairies. If you google "One and Only Dolls", you can still find her website; her work is just gorgeous. During that time doll repaints really took off, with the emergence of larger fashion dolls like Ashton Drake's Gene Marshall, Robert Tonner's Tyler Wentworth, the Sybarites, etc.--people were paying good prices for artists to repaint these beauties, and there were several websites full of beautiful work. One of these websites was called the Crystal Castle, where this lovely lady from Japan customized barbies, ken dolls, Azones and the like and created stunning original characters, commissions, and renditions of Wheel of Time characters. I really noticed the Azones and loved the Japanese aesthetic behind them, so I started researching them and, in time, bumped into another craze that was just hitting the internet at the time--Volks and U-noss dolls.

I couldn't believe how beautiful these dolls were, how poseable, how delicate looking, and how eminently customizable they were--and thus began my obsession with ball jointed dolls, known as bjds in the market today. Having a young family and being in art school I knew I could never afford one--they were $600 and up-- but I did get the Haute Doll Magazine BJD edition, in which the editors went to Japan and researched the BJD craze that was taking the doll world by storm. I flipped through that magazine, with it's beautiful photos, and vowed my daughter or I would own a BJD someday. A few years later, I did purchase my daughter a couple of bjds for her ninth birthday-- Bobobie 60cm Apollo and Elena, and they have been well loved--but needed some repairs and are currently awaiting re-customization. Given their price being so low, I was amazed at the quality of these dolls--I have since come to learn that they are seen as lower end dolls in the hobby but my daughter and I still think they are beautiful and well made, and would never trade them for anything. They have such lifelike expressions, which change as you photograph them from different angles.

So, I guess that brings me to where I am currently--awaiting *my* first doll purchase, a Batchix St. George (she's Batchix on this site, and has a website with her own stunning work if you google "Batchix Dolls"). The St George and Orpheus dolls are truly some of the most handsome dolls I have ever seen, and the sculpting work is masterful--I got to check Orpheus out at the Doll North Convention in Toronto last year.

I am beginning to customize fashion dolls now, and will be selling them both on this site and ebay. I will also be creating doll fashions for BJDs to be posted for sale on Etsy, and will post photos of them here. There will be sets of clothing for sale, as well as individual pieces--they will mostly be for 60 cm girls and boys but I will be making some for MSDs and various other types of dolls as my BJD collection grows.

I look forward to posting completed work soon!
